Cleveland, OH – A winter weather advisory is in effect for portions of Ohio and Pennsylvania from Wednesday afternoon through early Thursday, bringing a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain that could create hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday and continues until midnight for parts of northwest Pennsylvania, including Erie and Crawford counties. In Ohio, the advisory lasts until 7 a.m. Thursday, affecting cities such as Toledo, Sandusky, and Findlay.

Snow and sleet accumulations of up to an inch are expected in Ohio, with ice buildup ranging from one to two-tenths of an inch. Northwestern Pennsylvania could see up to a half-inch of snow and sleet, along with about a tenth of an inch of ice. Winds may gust as high as 40 mph, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of power outages.

Drivers should plan for slippery roads, especially during the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Officials urge caution and recommend checking travel conditions via 511pa.com for Pennsylvania and ohgo.com for Ohio.
