Pueblo, CO – An Arctic blast accompanied by snowfall will hit Colorado starting Friday night, bringing hazardous conditions through early next week. Residents should prepare for bitter cold and snowy roads.

According to the National Weather Service, two distinct snow events are likely. The first wave begins Friday evening and continues into Saturday, with an 80% chance of precipitation. A brief lull Sunday morning will be followed by another round of snow Sunday evening into Monday. Temperatures will plummet, with highs near 23°F on Saturday and single-digit lows Monday night.

Drivers should anticipate icy roads on major highways, including I-25 and US-50. Visibility may be reduced during peak snowfall hours. Motorists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during the storms and carry emergency supplies.

The coldest temperatures will arrive Monday night into Tuesday morning, with widespread lows between 0°F and 10°F. Wind chill values may make it feel even colder, posing risks for frostbite with prolonged outdoor exposure.

Thursday and Friday offer a final opportunity to prepare before conditions worsen. Residents should ensure their vehicles are winter-ready, stock up on essentials, and check in on vulnerable neighbors.

This winter storm marks a sharp turn from recent mild weather, reminding Coloradans of the importance of staying alert during the winter months.
