Grand Junction, CO – Residents in western Colorado should prepare for another day of cold temperatures as a high-pressure system brings clear skies and frigid conditions to the area. Light snow is forecast for the mountains, while Grand Junction itself will see sunny weather with highs reaching 36°F.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Junction, temperatures across the region are near to below average for this time of year. Tonight, the city will experience lows around 14°F with calm winds. Mountain areas, including the San Juans and Continental Divide, could see up to two inches of snowfall. Drivers traveling on nearby routes such as U.S. Highway 50 or I-70 should remain cautious, particularly after sunset when roads could become slick.
Looking ahead, Tuesday will bring another sunny day with highs near 38°F and lows dropping to 15°F overnight. Wednesday’s forecast indicates slightly warmer conditions, with a high of 41°F and clear skies. By Thursday and Friday, daytime highs will rise to 43°F, offering some relief from the cold.
However, a new weather disturbance is expected to arrive late Friday into Saturday, potentially bringing additional snow showers to higher elevations. NWS advises mountain travelers to plan ahead for changing weather and to monitor updates throughout the week.
Stay informed about these conditions, and consider layering up if spending time outdoors. While snow is not anticipated in the city, icy mornings and brisk evenings will remain a factor through the week.
