Grand Junction, CO – Snow showers and freezing temperatures are set to impact Colorado through midweek, with mountain areas bracing for up to six inches of snow. A weak system will bring light snowfall today, followed by a more significant storm later in the week.
According to the National Weather Service, snow is expected Tuesday evening into Wednesday, with accumulations of 3 to 6 inches in higher elevations. Grand Junction will see a mix of rain and snow, with temperatures dipping into the teens overnight. Winds from the northwest will reach up to 15 mph.
By Thursday night, another system will arrive, bringing heavy snowfall in the mountains and possible rain-snow mix in the valleys. Travel conditions could deteriorate, especially on I-70 and mountain passes.
Friday and Saturday will remain cold, with highs in the 40s and more chances of showers. Drivers should prepare for icy roads and reduced visibility.
Residents should monitor forecasts and dress in layers to combat freezing temperatures. More updates will follow as the storm system develops.
