Covina teacher, basketball coach accused of sex acts with minor
A basketball coach and substitute teacher for a school district in Covina was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of having sexual contact with a minor.
Christopher Confair, 34, coached and taught in the Covina Valley Unified School District from 2021 to February 2025, the Covina Police Department posted on Facebook Thursday.
“Confair no longer works for the Covina Valley Unified School District,” the post read.
No further details about his crimes were provided in the post, which stated that Confair was released from custody after posting bail.

Inmate records showed that Confair had bail set at $100,000 and he was due back in court Friday.
Confair recently finished his sixth season coaching the boys’ basketball team at Northview High in Covina, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims that have not come forward.
Police Sgt. Derek Gonzales told the SGV Tribune the possible victims range from middle school to high school students and that detectives have not determined over what period the alleged assaults took place.
Anyone with further information or who believes they were victimized by Confair was asked to contact Detective Hagle at 626-384-5621 or by email at chagle@covinaca.gov.
