SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES, — A hit-and-run traffic collision on the 170 Freeway in Sun Valley resulted in the death of a motorcyclist early Monday morning.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the northbound 170 Freeway at Roscoe Boulevard. The California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles City Fire Department swiftly responded to the collision involving a motorcycle.
Upon arrival, fire personnel discovered that the male motorcyclist was beyond medical assistance and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The CHP initiated a search for a white SUV with a crossover-style, which was involved in the collision but fled the scene.
They promptly notified the Los Angeles Police Department to be on the lookout for the described vehicle in the vicinity of the collision.
Approximately an hour after the accident, CHP received a call from an individual reporting that the suspected car was stopped at a gas station on Roscoe Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Avenue.
CHP is currently investigating this tragic hit-and-run collision.
