During a press conference, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus revealed that a man was fatally shot following an alleged dispute between lovers at a residence on the Southside of San Antonio on the morning of July 5th.
According to the preliminary investigation, a couple residing in the 700 block of Pelican Landing were engaged in an argument concerning infidelity when an unidentified man arrived at their doorstep.
The resident of the home confronted the visitor, believing him to be the person with whom his partner was cheating.
The altercation ended when the resident retrieved a long gun, resulting in the shooting and death of the visitor, who was found to be armed with a handgun.
The victim was described by McManus as being in his 20s or 30s.
The alleged shooter has been taken into police custody for questioning. The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time, stated McManus.
