Medford, OR – Freezing fog is causing hazardous conditions across Jackson, Josephine, and Curry counties this morning, with visibility dropping to less than 1/4 mile in several areas. Drivers are urged to use caution, particularly on local roads and highways.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Medford, the freezing fog advisory will remain in effect until 10 a.m. Frost forming on paved surfaces is increasing the risk of black ice, especially on bridges, overpasses, and shaded areas. Non-essential travel is discouraged until conditions improve.

An air stagnation advisory is also in place through Friday afternoon. This is expected to keep pollutants trapped near the surface, reducing air quality in the region. Residents with respiratory conditions are advised to limit outdoor activities.

As the fog lifts later today, temperatures will rise to a high of 52°F under mostly sunny skies. Patchy fog is likely to return overnight, leading to similar conditions Friday morning. Travelers should check road conditions before heading out and remain vigilant for icy patches.
