Denver, CO – A winter weather advisory has been issued for much of Colorado, with snowfall expected to impact travel from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service warns of slippery roads and hazardous conditions, particularly during peak commuting hours.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will begin around 2 p.m. Tuesday and continue through 11 a.m. Wednesday. Accumulations will vary across the state, with 2 to 6 inches expected in the Denver metro and up to 10 inches in higher elevations, including Rocky Mountain National Park and the Medicine Bow Range. Winds could gust up to 35 mph in mountainous areas.

Travelers should plan for difficult driving conditions, especially in the foothills and mountain passes. Authorities urge drivers to slow down, allow extra time, and check road conditions via www.cotrip.org or by calling 511.

The snow is expected to taper off by late Wednesday morning, though lingering slick spots may persist into the afternoon. Residents should stay updated on changing conditions and prepare for potential delays.
