Detectives seek to identify 2 people in murder of 66-year-old in Cerritos

Detectives are asking the public for help in identifying two people seen in the area of a deadly shooting late last month in Cerritos.

The shooting, described as a murder by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, took place on Feb. 25 on the Coyote Creek bike path.

Victim Cuauhtemoc Garcia, 66, was fatally shot while taking a walk on the bike path, the Sheriff’s Department stated in a special bulletin.

Detectives are now sharing an image of two people who were seen in the area at the time of the murder.

The Sheriff’s Department did not say if the people were suspects or just persons of interest but was asking for help identifying and locating them.
