‘Do you recognize this mullet?’ California police department asks

A Southern California police department is having a little fun at the expense of a theft suspect they are trying to locate and arrest.

As part of its Wanted Wednesday series, Irvine police released security camera photos of two men accused of recently stealing a person’s wallet from Trader Joe’s at 4225 Campus Drive.

They later used the victim’s credit card to buy a phone at a nearby Best Buy, police said.

“One of the individuals was sporting indoor sunglasses and a mullet, bold fashion choices,” Irvine PD noted in a social media post captioned, “Do you recognize this mullet?”

“We’ve got questions: Is the mullet making a comeback? Is it still ‘business in the front, party in the back’ if you commit a crime?” the post said. “And most importantly…do you recognize this duo?”

Police are asking anyone with information to email authorities at svoigt@cityofirvine.org.

“Help us bring justice and maybe a new hair stylist into this situation,” police joked.
