According to the National Weather Service in Dodge City, Saturday’s snow probabilities remain at 10-30% for totals exceeding one inch, primarily west of Highway 83. Monday’s potential snowfall is greater, with a 40% chance of higher accumulations expected in the afternoon, accompanied by colder temperatures.

Residents traveling along Highway 83 or nearby areas should monitor weather updates closely. Saturday will see breezy conditions, with highs near 28°F and wind gusts reaching up to 28 mph, creating additional challenges for drivers.

Looking ahead, temperatures will dip sharply by Sunday night, reaching a low of 6°F, with Martin Luther King Day offering a high of just 15°F and further snow possible. These cold conditions are expected to persist through early next week, with highs struggling to climb above freezing until midweek.

For now, locals are advised to prepare for slick roads, especially during early commutes Saturday and Monday. Emergency kits and extra time for travel could make a big difference during these weather events.
