Don’t expect cheap Dodgers tickets this season, data shows
It will be harder than ever to get bargain tickets to see the reigning World Series champions in the upcoming MLB season.
A new report from ticket exchange marketplace Vivid Seats shows that fans hoping to see the Los Angeles Dodgers can expect to pay a higher price than fans of any other team.
The defending champions top the Vivid Seats list in its 2025 MLB Fan Loyalty Report, which shows the team’s fans are the most excited for the most season and more willing to spend to see them in person — either at home or on the road.
The average price of Dodgers tickets, home or away, comes out to around $181, the report shows. That’s over $40 more than the next highest average ticket price: the Boston Red Sox.
It’s a 25% increase from the average price of Dodgers tickets in the 2024 MLB season, Vivid Seats says, the second-largest year-over-year increase among all teams. Only the Detroit Tigers (29%) saw a bigger increase in ticket prices.
The Dodgers also account for three of the most expensive single-game tickets in the upcoming season. Aside from the MLB All Star game ($837), the Dodgers’ home opener against the aforementioned Tigers ($604), and back-to-back New York Yankees matchups near the end of June ($436 and $414, respectively) are projected to be the most expensive single-game tickets in 2025.

A June 13 showcase of baseball’s most iconic rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox lands at No. 5 on the list, with a projected cost of about $300.
So how can you expect to see Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and the rest of the Dodgers star-studded roster without going broke?
There are a few options for savvy Dodgers fans who want to save a buck — as long as you’re flexible.
First, look for tickets the day of the game, even as late as an hour before the first pitch. Resale sites like Vivid Seats tend to see prices drop near game time as season ticket holders look to offload unused tickets, or as fans who are unable to make it to the game try to recoup some costs.
Speaking of season ticket holders, when attending games, get to know the people around you and build relationships. Many season ticket holders are unable to attend every game and would prefer to sell their tickets to friends or acquaintances rather than pay the fees of going through a ticket marketplace (sorry, Vivid Seats).
And finally, for Dodgers fans, consider a trip down the 5 Freeway from Los Angeles to Orange County where the Los Angeles Angels play… in Anaheim.
Angels tickets are among the cheapest on resale sites, average home-away price of $80, and are often the go-to ticket for fans of opposing teams because of availability and affordability.
That, of course, also includes the Dodgers. You can expect to pay significantly more for a Dodgers game in Anaheim than the average Angels game, but they tend to be a bit cheaper than many premier games at Dodger Stadium.
Regardless of where you catch a Dodgers game this upcoming season, you’ll likely be in good company. Vivid Seats data showed that Dodgers fans accounted for about 40% attendance in opposing stadiums last season — that was the highest figure of any team in the sport.
Just don’t expect that option if the Dodgers face the San Diego Padres in the playoffs again. Last year, the Padres restricted tickets to residents of San Diego County and some surrounding areas.
You gotta do what you gotta do.
