Driver slams into Van Nuys supermarket

A driver crashed through the entrance of a supermarket in Van Nuys late Wednesday morning, causing a big mess but, thankfully, no injuries.

The crash happened just before 11 a.m. at the Jons Fresh Marketplace on Sepulveda Boulevard, just south of Sherman Way, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told KTLA.

Sky5 aerial footage indicated the driver crashed through the sliding glass doors of an entrance and quickly came to a stop several yards inside the store. Neither the driver nor any shoppers were hurt, officials said.

The store remained open during the accident investigation and clean-up. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
