Pittsburgh, PA – A winter weather system will bring snow squalls and gusty winds across western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio today, creating hazardous driving conditions. Snow showers could lead to rapid accumulations, while wind gusts up to 40 mph may cause visibility issues on major roadways.

According to the National Weather Service, the highest risk for snow squalls will be in the afternoon and evening. Drivers on I-376, I-79, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike should prepare for sudden whiteouts and slick roads. The forecast calls for temperatures in the upper 30s before dropping into the 20s overnight, increasing the risk of icy conditions.

Looking ahead, Thursday will bring sunny skies with a high of 44°F before rain moves in Friday. A chance of snow returns Saturday night as temperatures dip into the 20s.

Residents should remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during squall activity. If caught in a snow squall, pull over safely and wait for conditions to improve. Stay updated with the latest weather alerts.
