After a car hit two people in East Bakersfield on June 4, one woman is dead and the other guy is hurt.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, police were sent to the 600 block of Union Avenue at 11:06 p.m. after reports of a crash there.
When police got there, they found two people, a man and a woman, who had been hit by a car in the northbound lanes. She died at the scene. The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is still in serious condition. The vehicle’s driver stayed at the scene.
The BPD’s investigation showed that the two people tried to cross the road from the center line, walking right in front of the car before being hit.
The BPD says that neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the crash.
