Family Injured in Car Accident Near Pico Boulevard, Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES – On Wednesday, a car collided with a man, his wife, and their 19-year-old son while they were walking on a sidewalk along La Cienega Boulevard, just north of Pico Boulevard.

According to Nicholas Prange from the Los Angeles Fire Department, the 48-year-old woman and 51-year-old man sustained serious injuries, while their son was in fair condition.

All three individuals were transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Paramedics from the LAFD also provided assistance to the driver of the car, who chose not to be taken to a hospital, as mentioned by Prange.

According to a sergeant from the West Traffic Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, who spoke to KCAL, the car was speeding and veered onto the sidewalk, hitting the family before crashing into a Chase bank. KCAL was the first to report on the relationship between the victims.

The sergeant informed KCAL that it is unlikely that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. However, the police are facing some difficulties due to a language barrier in their attempts to gather more information from the driver.

The incident took place at approximately 5:25 p.m., as stated by Prange.

The cause of the crash is currently being investigated.
