The winner of American Idol’s 2023 season-ending is William “Iam” Tongi. He will be your next American Idol.
On Sunday night, host Ryan Seacrest said that Iam got the most votes from fans, putting him ahead of Megan Danielle and Colin Stough, who was also in the top three.
Before he was named the winner of American Idol season 6 (the 21st season overall), though, fans of the ABC singing competition show saw how he improved as an artist on stage every week to win the ultimate title.
American Idol judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan were moved by Iam’s performance of “Monsters” by James Blunt during his first tryout. After he won a trip to Hollywood, the Hawaiian man kept the judges and people watching from home impressed with his song choices and personal acts.
Not surprisingly, the same thing happened at the end after they sang “Making Memories of Us” by Keith Urban and “Cool Down” by Kolohe Kai. To bring things full circle, I gave it his all when he sang his new single “I’ll Be Seeing You” as his last song.
When American Idol fans heard that he had won, they went straight to Twitter to celebrate what an amazing thing he had done on one of the biggest stages in the world.
“Congratulations, I am! I’m so happy I’m crying!” You are so amazing! “I’m glad you won. I knew it from the start,” wrote one person. “Congrats, I am. I couldn’t be happier. I’m excited to see how your work goes. “, said someone else. “LETS GOOOO WELL DESERVED 🤙🏼,” a different fan said.
Megan’s fans, on the other hand, had good reason to be upset about the results. Many people went to social media to say what they were thinking.
“I think you should have won because you’re a great singer and you’ve gotten better with every show! Someone wrote, “I love your voice and I can see you going far.” “It was your turn to win. I am sure that we will hear from you again. “Good luck with your new job,” said someone else. “Rigged! “Iam was good, but Megan was better!!!” said a watcher.
No matter what the votes say, Megan will make her mark long after the cameras stop rolling. People may know that Adam Lambert, Chris Daughtry, and Jennifer Hudson are just a few of the American Idol finalists who went on to have big careers after showing off their skills on the show.
