Fatal Pedestrian Accident on SR-94 in San Diego: Latest Updates!

SAN DIEGO —  Authorities reported that a vehicle struck and fatally injured a pedestrian on a major highway in San Diego on Saturday.

According to Jesse Matias from the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place near 28th Street on State Route 94 at approximately 9:21 p.m.

The pedestrian, who was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of SR-94, was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 44-year-old man.

Tragically, the pedestrian was declared dead at the scene, as confirmed by the CHP. The driver of the Chevrolet, who cooperated with the CHP, did not sustain any injuries.

To facilitate an investigation, the two left lanes were temporarily closed for approximately one hour and forty minutes.

A toxicology report is still pending to determine whether the pedestrian was under the influence of any substances. At present, the identity of the pedestrian has not been disclosed.
