Father and teenage son found dead in San Bernardino County wash

Authorities are investigating after a father and his 14-year-old son were found dead in a wash area in Adelanto, officials announced Friday.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said it was around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday when deputies responded to a man down call.

Officers arrived at the wash area, located near Pershing Drive and Montrose Way, and found two male victims, both deceased, with gunshot wounds.

A firearm was also found at the scene, the department added.

Investigators identified the father as Michael Williams, 35, of Barstow. The teenager’s name was not revealed, but officials said he was also a resident of Barstow.

“Both decedents were transported to the Coroner’s Office where it was determined Williams died by suicide,” the sheriff’s department said in a release. “Investigators are still working to determine a cause of death for the juvenile.”

Details are limited, and the department did not immediately provide any further information about the death investigation.
