Flood Watch Issued for Marin and Sonoma Counties as Heavy Rainfall Threatens Flooding

San Francisco, CA – The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Marin and Sonoma counties from Thursday morning through Friday afternoon. Rising creeks and streams, combined with more rainfall, may lead to flooding.

According to the NWS, the heaviest rain will impact areas near Healdsburg, Mark West Creek, Green Valley Creek, and Guerneville. Flooded roads and low-lying areas could create dangerous conditions. Officials urge residents in flood-prone areas to prepare for possible evacuations.

Rainfall since last Friday has saturated the soil, increasing the flood risk. Creeks and streams are already full, making additional rain especially dangerous. Residents should stay updated on weather alerts and be ready to take action.

The NWS advises avoiding flooded roads and monitoring official warnings. For real-time updates, visit weather.gov.
