Melbourne, FL – A cold air mass continues to dominate Central Florida, bringing brisk winds, cooler temperatures, and hazardous boating conditions. The National Weather Service reports a high of only 59°F today, with winds from the north gusting up to 20 mph. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect along the Atlantic coast through Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, seas of 4 to 6 feet, with waves up to 7 feet offshore, are expected from Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet. A southward-flowing longshore current heightens rip current risks at area beaches. Boaters and beachgoers are advised to prioritize safety and avoid venturing into the water.

Overnight, temperatures will dip to 52°F, with a 50% chance of light rain after midnight. Showers will become more frequent on Tuesday as highs reach 65°F, accompanied by wind gusts up to 25 mph. Rain chances peak at 90% by Tuesday night, with new precipitation up to half an inch possible.

Conditions will remain unsettled midweek, with breezy winds and rain continuing through Wednesday. Cooler air returns Thursday, with highs near 56°F.

Motorists traveling along I-95 or U.S. Route 1 should remain cautious as gusty winds and rain could create hazardous conditions. Beachgoers should heed rip current warnings, and inexperienced mariners are urged to avoid the water.
