Florida Weather Alert: Sea Fog, Thunderstorms Expected Across Tampa Bay Region

Tampa Bay, FL – Tampa Bay residents are advised to prepare for dense sea fog and thunderstorms expected overnight into Sunday morning. The National Weather Service warns of visibility dropping below a quarter-mile, posing risks to drivers and boaters.

According to the National Weather Service Tampa Bay, sea fog will develop tonight with a 70% chance of occurrence near the coast. Inland areas may also experience land fog overnight, reducing visibility through the early morning hours. Thunderstorms are predicted between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. across the region. Some storms may produce gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

Sunday’s high temperature will reach 71°F before dropping to the low 40s overnight. Winds will shift northwest, clearing out fog by mid-morning. Next week, colder conditions are expected, with Monday’s high only reaching 54°F.

The National Weather Service advises using caution during foggy conditions, particularly near Tampa’s waterways. Drivers should reduce speed and use low beams when encountering fog. Mariners are urged to stay updated through weather alerts before venturing out.
