Georgia Drivers Alert: Freezing Drizzle Possible Near I-20 Monday Morning, Light Rain Expected

Peachtree City, GA – Residents in Georgia south of I-20 should prepare for light rain early Monday morning, with freezing drizzle possible in some areas. The National Weather Service predicts minimal impacts but advises caution during the morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service, the highest chance for freezing drizzle (10–20%) will occur in the early morning hours. Areas along and north of a line from LaGrange to Milledgeville, including parts of Thomaston and Louisville, are most likely to see freezing precipitation. Rainfall is expected to total just 0.10 inches or less, and accumulations of ice are not anticipated.

Tuesday’s weather will see morning clouds clearing for a sunny afternoon, with highs near 46°F and winds from the northwest at 10 mph. Overnight lows will drop to 23°F under mostly clear skies.

Looking ahead, the five-day forecast predicts sunny skies for Wednesday and Thursday, with highs of 47°F and 51°F, respectively. Friday brings an 80% chance of rain in the afternoon, followed by potential showers through Saturday.

Drivers should remain cautious on elevated roadways, which could experience slick spots early Tuesday. Plan for extra travel time and stay updated on conditions through local forecasts.
