Gun found in cup holder leads to arrests in San Bernardino County
Two men were arrested in San Bernardino County after officers noticed a handgun in the cupholder of their vehicle early Monday morning.
“Early this morning, just before 2am, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle behind a gas station at 7th Street and Mountain Ave,” the Upland Police Department posted on X.
When they approached the vehicle, the officers found two men inside drinking beer. Both turned out to be convicted felons with one on active post-release community supervision.
“As the two tried to explain why they were parked in the shadows behind the building and drinking beer, officers immediately observed a handgun in the center console cup holder and detained both guys,” police said.
Neither of the men could explain how the gun, which was not registered, wound up between them.
The suspects were not identified but they were arrested and their vehicle was towed, police said.
