Heidi Montag’s 15-year-old album climbs to No. 1 on iTunes chart

Celebrities are doing their part to help Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.

The couple, who starred in the reality series “The Hills,” lost their Palisades home in the massive wildfire last week. To earn money to rebuild their lives, Pratt asked his social media followers to stream Montag’s 2010 album “Superficial” and the single “I’ll Do It.”

From there, celebrities like Paris Hilton, Flava Flav, Diplo and more posted videos streaming Montag’s 15-year-old single “I’ll Do It.”

To even further the millennial nostalgia, the couple’s former “Hills” costars like Kristi Cavallari, Brody Jenner, Lo Bosworth and Whitney Port also jumped on the trend. They each posted videos of themselves singing along.

It’s not just the high-profile support; all corners of the internet people have come together to support “Speidi,” the nickname for the couple.

All the hard work paid off. Montag’s album reached No. 1 on iTunes, beating out Bad Bunny’s new album “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.”

To add to the momentum, Montag released a music video for the single on Wednesday and it received over 10,000 views on YouTube within three hours of its release.

“The support has been such a light in such a darkness for us. It’s been life-changing,” Montag told Good Morning America on Wednesday about those helping them out.

Montag and Pratt were among the first celebrities to reveal their home was destroyed in the Palisades Fire, which sparked on Jan. 7. The couple said they didn’t have home insurance and lost everything but two teddy bears and the clothes on their backs.

Pratt said he feels “like a ghost” after the fire destroyed all their belongings and explained that all of his photos from before the existence of the iPhone are now gone.

Pratt and Montag have been romantically linked since 2007 and have been married since 2008 and have two children together.

“The Hills” aired for six seasons on MTV from 2006 until 2010 and originally focused on the life of Lauren “LC” Conrad, who starred in the hit reality show “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.”
