I-95 Accident in New Hampshire Leaves One Dead, Road Closed

Portsmouth, NH – A fatal crash on Interstate 95 has left one man dead and two women injured, prompting an ongoing investigation.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:41 p.m. on Sunday near mile marker 13 on I-95 southbound in Portsmouth. Responding troopers from Troop A found a smoking vehicle stopped in the middle lane and confirmed a three-vehicle collision.

Emergency medical services transported three individuals to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, an adult male succumbed to his injuries. Two adult females sustained minor injuries and received treatment.

According to New Hampshire State Police, the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Unit is investigating the crash to determine its cause. Due to the investigation, I-95 southbound remains closed at Exit 3B. Police have not provided an estimated time for the roadway to reopen.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has information to contact State Police Communications at (603) 223-4381. Witness accounts and additional information may prove crucial to the ongoing investigation.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while authorities work to complete their inquiry. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
