Ice Cube to be honored with Hollywood handprint ceremony
Yeah yeah!
West Coast rap legend Ice Cube will cement his legacy outside the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday.
Cube, whose real name is O’Shea Jackson, will be celebrated with a footprint and handprint ceremony.
Ice Cube’s over three-decade career spans music, film and sports, with hit albums, billion-dollar box office franchises and his groundbreaking Big3 basketball league.
The South Central Los Angeles native first burst onto the scene in the late ’80s as a part of the hip-hop group N.W.A., which featured Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, DJ Yella, MC Ren and Arabian Prince. They’re considered pioneers in the gangsta rap subgenre and are one of the greatest and most influential groups in hip-hop music.
On Sunday, the “Straight Outta Compton” rapper teased something big was coming.
“Got a special announcement comin’ up this week for my Day Ones and Real Ones. Stay locked,” he wrote on Instagram.
It’s unclear if the ceremony was the announcement.
The hand and footprint ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on April 15 and it will be a good day for Cube.
