Boise, ID – A winter storm warning expires at 11 a.m. Friday, but more snow and rain are on the way for Boise.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s storm brought strong winds and blowing snow, creating slick road conditions across southern and central Idaho. While roads may improve by midday, temperatures will drop overnight, leading to potential refreezing. Drivers should use caution, especially on I-84 and surrounding highways.
Looking ahead, Saturday will be mostly cloudy with patchy fog in the morning and a high near 35°F. Snow returns Saturday night, with a 40% chance of accumulation. Sunday will see snow in the morning, transitioning to rain by the afternoon, with highs reaching 41°F.
Monday and Tuesday will be drier but remain chilly, with mostly cloudy skies and lows dipping into the mid-20s. Another storm system could bring more precipitation by midweek.
Travelers should check road conditions before heading out by dialing 511 and stay updated on the latest forecasts. With fluctuating temperatures and changing precipitation types, roads may remain hazardous into next week.
