Indiana Shooting: Two Injured in Attack Outside Business in Gary

Gary, IN – A man and woman suffered gunshot wounds after an attack outside a business in Gary.

According to Gary Police, officers responded to a shooting around 8:10 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Broadway. Upon arrival, they found a 43-year-old woman from Merrillville lying in a parking lot. She had been shot but was unsure of her injuries’ exact location. Officers also found a 28-year-old Gary man with gunshot wounds to his legs.

Gary Fire Department personnel transported both victims to Methodist Northlake for treatment. Their conditions remain undisclosed.

Investigators believe the woman had just finished work and was heading toward a maroon vehicle when a known suspect approached. The gunman opened fire on both victims before fleeing west on foot.

The Gary Crime Scene Investigative Unit processed the area. Police have not released details about a suspect or motive.
