Davenport, IA – A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of Iowa and Illinois, with light snow and icy conditions expected from Saturday morning through Saturday night.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities, snowfall accumulation between 0.5 and 2 inches is forecast, with higher amounts possible in localized areas. A light glaze of ice is also possible south of the Sterling, Illinois, to Ottumwa, Iowa line, particularly in the morning hours, increasing the risk of slippery surfaces.

The advisory covers areas along and south of Interstate 80, including Davenport, Moline, and Iowa City. Some roads may become snow-covered, making travel hazardous throughout the day. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and monitor updates from local weather services.

Light freezing rain is also forecast with a 20-30% chance during the early morning hours, particularly in southeastern Iowa and western Illinois. Residents should prepare for changing conditions and stay cautious while commuting or traveling on Saturday.
