Kalamazoo County Crash Leaves Passenger Hospitalized, Driver Arrested for DUI

Charleston Township, MI – A single-vehicle crash early Thursday left one man severely injured and another arrested for operating while intoxicated. The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. near Augusta Drive and 38th Street in Charleston Township.
Emergency responders from Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, Galesburg Fire, and Life EMS arrived at the scene. Deputies confirmed the crash happened on Augusta Drive just east of 38th Street.
A 43-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. He sustained severe injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released an update on his condition.
The 36-year-old driver suffered minor injuries. After receiving treatment at a hospital, deputies arrested him for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
