Kankakee, IL – Kankakee High School Seeks New Head Football Coach

Kankakee High School is actively searching for a new head football coach following the departure of Miles Osei, who led the Kays to unprecedented success during his two-year tenure.

According to the school’s athletic department, interviews for the position will begin Tuesday, January 30. The Kays are known for their top-tier facilities and a strong roster of returning talent. The position will officially start on June 1, 2025, ahead of the 2025-2026 school year.

Osei, who recently accepted the head coaching job at Evanston Township High School, leaves behind an impressive legacy, including a 21-3 overall record, two Southland Athletic Conference championships, and consecutive IHSA Class 6A state quarterfinal appearances. In 2023, the Kays achieved their first undefeated regular season in program history.

Candidates for the position must meet specific qualifications, including ASEP certification, first aid training, and experience in a successful football program. The first-year salary is listed at $11,020. Applications are open until the role is filled.
