Kansas Weather Alert: Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Wichita Area Tonight, Cooler Temps Ahead

Wichita, KS – Showers and isolated thunderstorms will move into Wichita late tonight, bringing rain through early Friday. A cooler trend follows, with temperatures dipping into the 30s by Thursday night.
According to the National Weather Service, rain chances increase to 70% tonight, with possible thunderstorms but no severe weather expected. Light winds from the southeast will shift northwest by Thursday night, bringing gusts up to 29 mph. Highs will reach the low 50s Thursday before dropping to the 30s overnight.
Friday remains cool, with a high near 52°F and mostly clear skies. The weekend brings a gradual warm-up, with highs in the upper 50s Saturday and into the 60s by Sunday. Dry conditions will persist into early next week, with sunny skies Monday and Tuesday.
Drivers should be prepared for slick roads overnight and into the Thursday morning commute. If traveling, allow extra time and check road conditions before heading out.
