Wichita, KS – Kansas residents should prepare for wintry conditions early next week, as snowfall and colder temperatures are expected from Monday through Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, light snow will develop on Monday and continue into Tuesday, bringing minor accumulations. By Wednesday, a second weather system could produce moderate snowfall, further impacting central, south-central, and southeast Kansas.

Temperatures will remain seasonally cool through Sunday, with highs in the 30s and lows ranging from 18 to 27 degrees. Monday’s highs will reach the mid-30s to low 40s before dropping significantly on Tuesday, with highs between 19 and 32 degrees. Wednesday’s temperatures are forecast to remain below freezing, increasing the potential for icy road conditions.

Travelers should plan for potentially hazardous roads, especially by midweek, and monitor local forecasts for updated snowfall totals. Officials recommend having winter supplies on hand and allowing extra time for commutes.

The National Weather Service urges residents to stay informed on changing weather conditions as the system develops.
