L.A. sports teams collect food, raise money for wildfire victims
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — The Los Angeles Lakers are back in action Monday night, and with three games at Crypto.com Arena this week, the team is offering the thousands of fans in attendance the chance to give back during this spate of wildfires.
The Lakers are accepting donations for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the team announced on Instagram.
Donations of “new, in-the-package items” will be accepted at three entrances beginning 1.5 hours before tipoff and continuing until halftime.
The Lakers are also part of the “LA Strong” campaign from Fanatics, which is selling T-shirts with that phrase and the Los Angeles sports logo of each fan’s choice.
Sales of the shirts will benefit the American Red Cross and Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
