Green Bay, WI – Northern Wisconsin will experience light snowfall tonight, with accumulation tapering off by Thursday morning. Commuters may encounter slick roads due to minimal snowfall and freezing conditions.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Green Bay reported most areas will receive less than one inch of snow. Northern Vilas County may see up to two inches. Although totals remain light, even small amounts can create slippery patches, especially during the evening commute.

The NWS advises drivers to remain cautious and slow down, particularly on untreated roads. The light snow will begin early Wednesday evening, gradually diminishing overnight. Slippery spots are most likely in central and north-central Wisconsin, including Green Bay, Appleton, and surrounding areas.

Road conditions could worsen during rush hour as the snow begins to stick. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation recommends motorists allow extra travel time and maintain safe distances. “Take it slower if driving in any snow,” the NWS suggested.

Temperatures are expected to hover near freezing, which increases the potential for icy patches. While conditions improve by early Thursday, authorities urge continued vigilance for refreezing on bridges and overpasses.

Residents should stay updated on weather alerts and road conditions through local sources. Those commuting overnight or early Thursday morning should plan routes carefully.

Light snowfall events like this often lead to preventable accidents when drivers underestimate icy conditions. Remaining alert and proactive will help ensure safety during this minor weather system.
