Lockport Township Firefighters Battle Intense Crest Hill Garage Fire

Firefighters battled a garage fire Monday evening in the 20400 block of Kingsbrook Drive. Flames spread to the attached home, causing severe damage.
According to the Lockport Township Fire Protection District, crews arrived at 5:45 p.m. and found heavy fire in the garage of a two-story home. The fire quickly extended into the house, making it uninhabitable.
Firefighters controlled the blaze before it could spread further. The residents were home but escaped unharmed. The Crest Hill Building Department assessed the damage, and utility services were disconnected.
The fire escalated to a full still alarm, bringing additional crews from Romeoville and Plainfield. Firefighters from Homer, East Joliet, Bolingbrook, and Troy assisted.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.
