Lancaster, Los Angeles County, CA: On Tuesday night, a severe car accident occurred involving three vehicles and a suspected driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Unfortunately, the collision resulted in one fatality and another individual trapped inside a severely damaged vehicle.
Emergency responders, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies from Lancaster Station, were dispatched to the intersection of West Avenue L and 20th Street West in Lancaster shortly before 9 p.m. on June 6th.
Upon their arrival, the LACoFD personnel discovered that two individuals were trapped inside one of the vehicles.
One of the victims was successfully extricated from the wreckage and rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Regrettably, the passenger in the same vehicle was pronounced dead at the accident site.
Given the circumstances of the collision, it is suspected that the use of drugs or alcohol by one of the drivers played a role.
Deputies present at the scene conducted a series of field sobriety tests on the driver in question. The driver was subsequently seen handcuffed next to a deputy’s vehicle. Currently, no additional information is available regarding the incident.
