A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy remains hospitalized following a shooting incident in Palmdale, according to information obtained by Eyewitness News.
While specifics surrounding the incident are currently limited, authorities have indicated that the deputy was shot while inside his patrol car on Saturday evening, near the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station situated at the intersection of Sierra Highway and Avenue Q.
Promptly, emergency responders rushed him to the Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster, where he is listed in critical condition.
The circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear at this time, and there is no immediate information available regarding potential suspects.
Video footage obtained by ABC7 shows deputies cordoning off the area near the sheriff’s station with crime scene tape, resulting in road closures. Additionally, multiple deputies were observed coming in and out of the Antelope Valley hospital.
