Los Angeles Wind Advisory: Gusts Up to 65 MPH Expected Through Thursday Afternoon

Los Angeles, CA – Residents across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties are bracing for a high wind warning set to impact the region through Thursday afternoon. Wind advisories are already in effect and will transition to a high wind warning beginning at 10 p.m. tonight.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory applies to areas including the Santa Susana Mountains, Western San Gabriel Mountains, Interstate 5 Corridor, Santa Clarita Valley, and the Western Santa Monica Mountains. Winds of 15-30 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph, are expected during the advisory. Overnight, gusts may increase to 65 mph in certain areas under the high wind warning.

The strongest winds will affect high-profile vehicles and unsecured objects. Damaging gusts could lead to downed trees, power lines, and widespread outages. Travelers on Highway 14, Interstate 5, and near Pyramid Lake should exercise caution.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and remain in lower levels of their homes. Drivers, particularly those with high-profile vehicles, should plan for hazardous conditions.
