Shreveport, LA – A flash flood warning remains in effect until 3:15 PM CST for several parishes in northwestern Louisiana and counties in eastern Texas. Heavy rain has already dropped between one and two inches, with additional rainfall expected.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, thunderstorms continue to produce heavy rainfall, increasing the risk of flash flooding. Impacted areas include De Soto, Natchitoches, Red River, and Sabine parishes in Louisiana, as well as Sabine, San Augustine, and Shelby counties in Texas. Flooded roads, low-lying areas, and small streams may become hazardous.

Residents in Mansfield, Many, San Augustine, and surrounding communities should avoid flooded roads. The NWS warns that most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should turn around if they encounter water on the road.

More rain is expected through the afternoon, worsening conditions. Emergency officials urge residents to stay updated and prepare for possible evacuations. If water levels rise rapidly, seek higher ground immediately.
