Louisville, KY – Drivers along the I-65 corridor should prepare for wet road conditions Friday, as sunny skies early this week give way to storms.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Louisville will enjoy dry and sunny conditions through midweek. Tuesday’s high is expected to reach 48°F, with overnight lows near 32°F. Wednesday will bring slightly warmer temperatures, with highs climbing to 51°F under clear skies. However, a significant weather system is moving in from the southwest, increasing rain chances Thursday night into Friday.

Showers are expected to begin late Thursday, with an 80% chance of rainfall overnight. Heavy rain may impact Friday’s morning commute, especially on high-traffic roadways such as I-65 and surrounding areas. Drivers are urged to exercise caution during peak travel times, as rain can reduce visibility and cause slick surfaces.

Looking ahead, the weekend is expected to remain mostly cloudy, with highs in the mid-50s Saturday before cooling slightly Sunday. Residents should monitor weather updates and clear storm drains to prevent localized flooding. For the latest updates, visit weather.gov/lmk.
