Portland, ME – A powerful winter storm continues to impact Maine and New Hampshire this morning, bringing heavy snowfall and hazardous travel conditions across the region. Snowfall totals are expected to reach between 6 and 10 inches before tapering off this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, the storm is moving south of the region, with the heaviest snow falling in southwestern Maine and central and southern New Hampshire. Snowbands will create periods of reduced visibility and rapid accumulations, making roads extremely dangerous.

The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM EST, with an additional 3 to 5 inches of snow expected before the storm exits. Residents in cities such as Portland, Manchester, Nashua, and Concord should prepare for challenging conditions.
