Scattered snow showers will continue north of Bangor into the evening. Blowing snow may cause reduced visibility. Most activity will end tonight, but flurries could linger near Katahdin. Winds will gradually diminish overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will drop to single digits and teens across the region. Saturday will stay dry but colder, with highs ranging from the mid-teens in the Saint John Valley to the upper 20s along the Downeast coast.
A low-pressure system will move south of the area Saturday night into Sunday. This system could bring several inches of snow to Bangor and Downeast Maine. The highest totals are expected along the coast and outer islands.
Light snow may fall in Upper Penobscot Valley and the Moosehead Lake region. North of Katahdin, little or no snow is expected.
