Man is Charged With Killing a Cat by Hurling It Against a Wall When They Were Arguing

A Texas man has been arrested on his 43rd birthday after being accused of killing his girlfriend’s pet kitten during an argument at a San Antonio hotel. Robert Martinez, from San Antonio, is facing a third-degree felony charge for cruelty to a nonlivestock animal, according to Bexar County online court records.

The incident occurred at the Staybridge Suites hotel in San Antonio on Tuesday. The woman called the authorities, reporting that Martinez had assaulted her during their argument. According to reports, Martinez became agitated and started throwing items around the room. Allegedly, he picked up the woman’s kitten and threw it against the wall.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found the lifeless feline on the floor, surrounded by blood. Martinez had fled the hotel, but he was later apprehended and booked into the Bexar County Jail. His bail has been set at $10,000, as indicated by online records.
