Man shot in the face in Orange County; suspect at large

Authorities are searching for a suspect after a man was shot in the face in Orange County Wednesday.

Deputies responded to a call at an abandoned industrial building near Cerritos Avenue and Magnolia Street in Stanton at 6:35 a.m.

A person requested medical aid after they found the injured victim, who authorities described as a transient, inside the building. 

The man was found with a gunshot wound to the face and the suspect had fled the scene before deputies arrived.

He was transported to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Detectives are searching for the shooter. No further details were provided as the case remains under investigation.
