Baltimore, MD – Snow and ice are creating dangerous travel conditions across Maryland as a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until midnight Saturday. Forecasters warn that snow, sleet, and freezing rain will continue throughout the day, making roads treacherous, especially along Interstate 95 and major highways.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will transition into sleet by late afternoon, followed by freezing rain this evening. Accumulations could reach up to an inch of snow and sleet, with ice buildup near one-tenth of an inch. Residents should expect slippery roads and possible power outages due to icy conditions.

Sunday will bring relief, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 46°F, but another winter storm is looming. By Tuesday, snow is expected to return, bringing potential travel disruptions.

Drivers are urged to slow down, use caution, and check road conditions via 511before heading out. The winter weather may impact commutes and school schedules early next week, so residents should prepare accordingly.
