Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia Weather Alert: Freezing Rain Expected Until 7 PM Saturday

Baltimore, MD – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday, with freezing rain and icy conditions expected across portions of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.
According to the National Weather Service, ice accumulations of one to two-tenths of an inch are expected in higher elevations, with light snow and sleet possible in north-central and western Maryland.
The advisory covers Garrett, Washington, and Frederick counties in Maryland, Augusta, Rockingham, and Frederick counties in Virginia, and portions of the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, including Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan counties.
Travel impacts:
• Slippery roads, especially on bridges and overpasses.
• Freezing rain impacts primarily above 1,000 feet.
• Higher elevations above 1,500-2,000 feet could see significant ice accumulation.
