Massachusetts Weather Alert: Snow and Freezing Rain Expected Until 7 AM Saturday

Boston, MA – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Western Franklin and Western Hampshire counties until 7 a.m. Saturday, with accumulating snow and possible freezing rain creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston/Norton, rain will transition to snow this evening, with 2 to 3 inches of accumulation, and localized areas seeing up to 4 inches. A brief period of freezing rain is also possible, leading to a light ice accretion.

Drivers should exercise caution, as road conditions may become slippery, particularly during the Friday evening commute. Officials advise reducing speed and allowing extra travel time.
